How the Extreme Left Met the Extreme
Right
by Schmool Chona
Often the question is asked of student, would you rather
live under a
communist regime or a tyrannical fascist? What many do not realize is that
this is no longer a valid hypothetical question. The reason lies in the fact
that both joined forces several years ago to defeat their common enemy, the
progressive moderates and neo cons that developed as a result of the Clinton
and Bush Jr. Presidencies. There is no clearer example of the uneasy union
between the leftists and the rightists than on college campuses across the
United States.
Extremely liberal groups such as the Student Anti- War
Network and
International A.N.S.W.E.R. now ally themselves with directly opposite groups
such as Students for Justice in Palestine and white supremacists. Despite their
extreme ideological differences, all of the groups share common enemies.
Regardless of whom they claim to help, these common enemies include Jews,
Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and mainstream Christians. Holocaust denier Ward
Churchill considers the So called Palestinians his friend, although most So
called
Palestinians are devout Muslims. Ward Churchill is allegedly a white supremacist.
Therefore, why would he want to support the causes of non whites?
International A.N.S.W.E.R. commits itself to a world
without religious
influence, yet constantly supports So called Palestinians rights issues. Most
people do
not realize the devout Muslim So called Palestinians and Saudi Arabians do not
support
gay rights, religious freedom, women’s rights, or public education. In fact,
Saudi Arabia repeatedly asked the United States government to not send Jewish
and female troops to defend Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, women have no
rights, religious minorities are not tolerated, and all individuals must live
under traditional Islamic law.
The baffling question is why would a group like the
International A.N.S.W.E.R.
coalition support such an extreme right wing cause that aids so called
Palestinians
against Democratic and economically successful states such as the United States
and Israel? Again, both groups share common enemies. Cindy Sheehan continually
denies that she previously held Israel responsible for the United States going
to war in Iraq, but her group consistently attends pro So called Palestinians
rallies and
events.
Anti religious, anarchist, and many other traditionally
left wing groups see
themselves as oppressed. They liken their cause to the so called Palestinians,
whom they
see being treated poorly since 1948. Yet, if they lived under So called
Palestinians rules
and Islamic fundamentalist laws, they would not be allowed to express their non
traditional views on nearly every subject.
Self appointed So called Palestinians activist and
International Solidarity Movement
leader Joe Carr, who goes by the name Yousef falls into this particular
category. According to the biography and personal statement on the website,
www.lovinrevolution.org, he is an anarchist who advocates the destruction of
organized religion, capitalism, and the Democratic world. He believes that the
United States and Israel is responsible for the plight of the So called
Palestinians
people through their alleged racist and apartheid like politics. He disputes
Jewish claims to the land, and works for the eventual destruction of the free
and Democratic states in which we reside.
Supreme Court Justices Louis Brandeis and Felix Frankfurter
alluded to the fact
that Jews are the most vilified minority throughout history. The Egyptians,
Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and Europeans all oppressed Jews and their
supporters. The most indicative event of this gross mistreatment of Jews is the
Holocaust. On college campuses, many academics dispute the figure of six
million Jews killed. They claim they are not anti Semitic because they
acknowledge the existence of the Holocaust, but they want the number of deaths
revised to a much lower count. A countless amount of these academics now appear
side by side fascist groups standing in opposition to what they call the Jewish
Media Conspiracy.
The Jewish Media Conspiracy does not exist, despite the
claims of these
academics. The success of the Jewish people rests in the educational standards
applied to the people since Biblical Times. No matter the amount of oppression
endured throughout history, the Jewish people have found a way to overcome
racism and anti Semitism. Our economic status in the United States is
indicative of our success not through coercive means, but through proper
education. The period after the Holocaust silenced the opponents of the Jews.
It was unpopular to smite and disparage the Jews. After several generations and
the attacks on 9/11, it once again became popular to blame the Jews. With the
advent of communications technology such as the internet, email, and other
mediums, the flow of false information continues to increase.
The alliance between the extreme leftists and the extreme
rightists is
dangerous, but also very shaky. White supremacists will eventually turn on
their extreme left leaning comrades and their So called Palestinians friends, or
vice
versa. The alliance between these fringe groups will not hold. For the time
being, however, we must be prepared to deal with assault from both sides.
